A question many just don’t take the time to think about…
Heaven as we are destined for it…is the perfect realignment of the creator of the universe and all that is in it, human beings, the highest being of this order of creation, humans.
There is, according to the Bible, an original purpose and plan for life that was in the mind of the creator long before the world was ever first created. There is an incredible, seemingly unending trail of evidence that points at the level of design that cannot be logically denied.
Heaven cannot be properly understood by humans as so much of it is hidden from us. Yet, many hints are given by the Bible. Jesus indicated that he was going to heaven to prepare a place for us. It also indicates that there will, in the end, be a “new” heaven and earth and that it is beyond our ability at this point in time to comprehend.
Evil and the capacity for evil will ultimately be abolished forever as the realization of a perfect relationship between humans and the divine is achieved.
The Bible also indicates that here “all tears will be wiped away” by God himself and God will dwell among mankind in an unending experience of joyful and eternal life. Simply put, heaven (as we look forward to it) cannot be described in words.
Imagine the best moments of life you have ever experienced. Then recognize that that moment is but a faint hint of the wonder of eternity as planned by God for the human race.
This pending experience is available to all…but not without the implementation of an attribute that all humans possess…that is, the use of the will. God will not coerce us into heaven and a relationship with Him.
This offer of eternal life, or, entrance to heaven, comes not by any self effort or system of qualification. It is a free gift made possible by what Jesus the Son of God did on the cross. Once we hear and understand who He and what He did, our faith in Him triggers a release of God’s power of restoration into our lives.
